Sourdough Starter
I have both dehydrated and fresh (active) sourdough starter for sale/bartering. I purchased this starter from someone who provided that it is over 225 years old, from a bakery in France. I can’t verify if this is true, and there are differing opinions on whether an older starter makes for a better one, but nonetheless, I have found this starter to be phenomenal. I’ve had her strong and active for a few years now, and have gifted her to a number of family and friends who have become quick sourdough converts.
The sourdough starter is available either fresh or dried, with a QR code that you can scan which has a compiled list of links and resources- both instructions on how to maintain and care for the starter, as well as some of my favourite recipes.
Sourdough
Sourdough is more than just a recent fad.
It is such a beautiful and rich tradition, and for me, part of the call to return to nature, to learn to be one with our environment, the ecosystems around us and within us. The magic of beginning a living and thriving ecosystem of bacteria that comes to life from the yeast in the air around us, that can grow and create, and feed our microbiomes with beautiful, flourishing nutrients.
This is pure magic. This is symbiosis.
Kombucha
I also have Kombucha SCOBY’s available.
A kombucha SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) is much like a sourdough starter.
The practice of making kombucha is another way in which we join the magical dance of symbiosis with the unseen but thriving ecosystems around and within us.
The SCOBY comes in the kombucha liquid and a QR code which links to instructions and resources.
This SCOBY I inherited from my aunt, who is a professional chef and has been doing kombucha for many many years.
It is strong and healthy, making wonderful kombucha, and I also use the kombucha vinegar as well, which is a beautiful apple cider vinegar replacement.
