A little bit about me

Hi, welcome!

My name is Christina, most of my friends and family call me Chrissy.

I live with my husband, my daughter and my parents in a multigenerational home, on a few acres in rural Southern Ontario. Ending up here has felt like somewhat of a winding road, but sometimes those are the roads with the best scenic views.

I initially went to university for social work and spent a number of years working in the violence against women field, largely ended up working with survivors of human trafficking, both domestically and internationally. After returning from working abroad, and while staffing a safe house for survivors in Toronto, I felt called to go to law school to learn how to help survivors navigate the legal system. After graduating with my law degree and Masters in Social Work (and being called to the bar), I worked in private practice doing social justice work largely practicing civil litigation and constitutional law. I really love doing this work and am so thankful for the opportunities and the learning experience this work has provided.

When I became a mom during the pandemic, my priorities began to shift. I wanted to slow down, to raise (and homeschool) my daughter in the country. So we moved north, to a rural a property with a few acres of forest, an ever-expanding garden and a heated outdoor workshop (which is now being transformed into my pottery studio).

So here we are. Currently I’m doing some freelance legal research and writing, working on getting the pottery studio operational and starting to run classes, relaunching my photography business, getting a new line of clothes ready to launch with Peyton & Friends, and just enjoying mom life and the space to be learning- learning new homesteading skills, gardening, cooking, baking, fermenting, preserving, you name it, I want to to learn it.

I created this website to connect with you, my friends, family, community, to share about what I’ve been up to and what I have to offer you. So thank you for dropping by and please don’t hesitate to reach out and connect either through email or instagram.
